Double broken Harry's Horse D-ring bridle.
The D-ring bit has solid side pieces and therefore sits securely in the corners of the horse's mouth. The side pieces measure approximately 60mm x 70mm. Because the rings do not move freely apart, the rein aids are applied directly. The D-ring bit sits securely in the mouth and is therefore suitable for horses with restless or sensitive mouths and horses that tend to break out over the shoulder. The outer side pieces of the D-ring bit create a contact area that makes it easier to ride in turns and to limit the outside rein. D-ring bits should be chosen half to one size smaller.
The double-jointed bit consists of three pieces that rest in the horse's mouth, each with a bit thickness of 14 mm. The middle piece of the bit rests on the tongue and therefore exerts more pressure on it than a single-jointed bit. It is especially important to choose the correct size with a double-jointed bit. If the bit is too large, there is a risk that the joints will touch the corners of the mouth, thus injuring the horse.
