Not only is the right approach to hoof care crucial, but stable hygiene and hoof hygiene are also important. Which hoof care product is specifically suitable for the care of the frog, frog grooves, and the white line in ponies and horses?

The answer is Keralit Thrush Liquid! Keralit Thrush Liquid is a liquid, well-adhering frog care solution that is specially suitable for the problem areas of the hoof frog and the white line. The frog care solution consists of a water-soluble combination with various tannins and salts. The hoof care of the Thrush Liquid is primarily based on changing the environment that the horn-destroying germs need to metabolize. These germs prefer an alkaline, warm, moist, and anaerobic environment. Due to its thin consistency, the Thrush Liquid can penetrate well and deeply into the frog grooves and fissured horn substance. For application, simply moisten the horn with the liquid.
By using Keralit Thrush Liquid, the surface of the horn becomes indigestible for the germs. The tanning of the outermost horn layer changes the molecular structure of the horn. The enzymatic digestion of the germs then no longer matches the molecular structure of the protein (keratin) to be digested. The germs are deprived of their livelihood. Likewise, the germ envelopes are tanned, as these also consist of proteins. This prevents the encapsulation of existing germs.
The frog horn becomes firmer after only 3 to 4 days of application, and the frog grooves dry out. It contains no copper sulfate, iodoform, or antibiotics.

Easy application

Application: Before application, it is important to thoroughly but dry clean the frog grooves (i.e., do not wash them). If the hoof is damp, that's fine.
It is best to place a swab or a small cloth over a wooden tongue depressor (blunt) and wipe through the frog grooves several times. Always change the cloths. Then, apply a few drops of Keralit Thrush Liquid into the frog grooves using the dosing nozzle. Then, carefully widen the frog grooves with the spatula so that the solution can flow into the lowest pockets.
The application should be done daily for approximately 3 to 4 days, then at increasing intervals. For follow-up care, weekly application is generally sufficient. Good stable hygiene and hoof hygiene should always be observed.
