For many horse owners and riders, frogs, sulcus, and the white line pose a real challenge when it comes to hoof care. Not only the correct approach to hoof care is crucial, but also stable and hoof hygiene. Which hoof care product is specifically suitable for the care of frogs, sulcus, and the white line in ponies and horses?

The answer is Frog Liquid from Keralit! Keralit Frog Liquid is a liquid, adherent frog care solution specifically designed for the problem areas of the frog and the white line. The frog care solution consists of a water-soluble combination with various tannins and salts. The hoof care effect of the Frog Liquid is primarily based on changing the environment required by the horn-decomposing bacteria to metabolize. These bacteria prefer alkaline, warm, moist, and anaerobic conditions. Due to its thin consistency, the Frog Liquid penetrates deeply into the frog grooves and fissured horn substance. To apply, simply moisten the horn with the liquid.
With the use of Keralit Strahl-Liquide, the surface of the horn becomes indigestible for germs. Tanning the outermost horny layer changes the molecular structure of the horn. Enzymatic digestion of the germs then no longer matches the molecular structure of the protein (keratin) being digested. The germs are deprived of their vitality. The germ coats are also tanned, as these are also made of proteins. Encapsulation of existing germs cannot therefore occur.
The frog horn becomes firmer after just 3 to 4 days of use, and the frog grooves dry out. It does not contain copper sulfate, iodoform, or antibiotics.

Application: Before applying, it's important to thoroughly but dry clean the frog grooves (do not wash). It's okay if the hoof is wet.
It's best to place a swab or small cloth over a blunt wooden tongue depressor and wipe the frog grooves several times. Change the cloths frequently. Then, using the dosing nozzle, apply a few drops of Keralit Strahl-Liquide into the frog grooves. Then, carefully widen the frog grooves with the spatula so that the solution can flow into the lowest pockets.
Application should be daily for approximately 3 to 4 days, then at increasing intervals. For follow-up care, weekly application is generally sufficient. Good stable and hoof hygiene must be observed in all cases.
