Keratex Hoof Putty wax hoof putty for cracks and cavities

Keratex Hoof Putty is a hoof putty made from semi-permanent wax that can be molded in the hand and fills and stabilizes hollows and holes in the hoof so that the load in the hoof is better distributed and the hoof is protected. Hollow spaces develop in the hooves of ponies and horses after hoof abscesses, broken hooves or hoof ulcers. This places increased strain on and overloads the remaining hoof structures. To prevent further damage to the hoof, the hollow spaces are filled with Keratex Hoof Putty. This allows the pony or horse to bear more weight on the hoof, depending on their condition. Hoof Putty from Keratex can also be used by farriers as a pad or shock absorber on the sole of the hoof, for example, in cases of laminitis or in horses with a very thin sole.
The hoof putty itself is disinfectant and prevents sand and dirt from penetrating hoof cracks and cavities. It stabilizes the hoof and gives it time to regenerate and regrow.
Keratex Hoof Putty does not replace expert veterinary treatment or hoof treatment by a farrier.

Application:
Wash and disinfect your hands before use. Clean and disinfect the hoof and the affected cavities. Keratex Hoof Putty is very hard in the can and softens when warmed. Pour the Hoof Putty into the cavities until a thick plug forms. This fills and stabilizes holes, cavities, and cracks in the hoof, allowing the hoof to regrow.

For use on horse hooves only. Keratex Hoof Putty may harden in the container. This is not a quality defect; it ensures a longer shelf life. If this happens, remove a portion and warm it by gently kneading it in your hands (wearing disposable gloves).
