Keratex Hoof Putty wax hoof putty for cracks and cavities

Keratex Hoof Putty is a semi-permanent wax hoof putty that can be molded by hand to fill and stabilize cavities and holes in the hoof, thereby better distributing the load within the hoof and protecting it. After hoof abscesses, due to broken hoof walls, or a sole ulcer, ponies and horses develop cavities in the hoof. This places increased stress and overload on the existing hoof structures. To prevent further damage to the hoof, the cavities are filled with Keratex Hoof Putty. This allows the pony or horse to bear weight on the hoof better, depending on its condition. Keratex Hoof Putty can also be used by farriers as padding or a shock absorber on the sole of the hoof, for example, in cases of laminitis or horses with very thin soles.
The hoof putty itself is disinfecting and prevents sand and dirt from entering hoof cracks and cavities. The hoof is stabilized and given time to regenerate or grow back.

Application:
Wash and disinfect your hands before use. Clean and disinfect the hoof and the affected cavities in the hoof. Keratex Hoof Putty is very hard in the jar and softens in a warm hand. Fill the Hoof Putty into the cavities until a thick plug forms. This fills and stabilizes holes, cavities, and cracks in the hoof, allowing the hoof to grow back.

Notes:
For use exclusively on horse hooves. Keratex Hoof Putty may harden in the jar. This is not a quality defect but ensures a longer shelf life. If this occurs, take out a portion and warm it by gently kneading it in your hands (wear disposable gloves).
