LeMieux has developed a special fly rug for the warm summer months that creates both an optical and mechanical barrier between your pony or horse and annoying insects like horseflies, midges, and flies. The result: the beautiful Arika Camo-Tek fly rug in the Macaron color variant. The color Macaron is a light green shade. All fastenings of the rug are in Macaron, while the base color of the rug is a light beige.

 Why a fly rug with a camouflage pattern deters insects

The Arika Camo-Tek fly rug features a camouflage pattern across the entire top line of the rug in various shades of grey. This pattern makes it particularly difficult for insects to discern the horse's outline and land on the horse. The camouflage pattern is also found on the lower edge of the rug and on the belly flap, which covers sensitive body parts such as the belly seam.

The breathable mesh is perfectly suited for warm summer days and is highly technical. Additionally, the rug provides an SPF of 70+ for the horse. The light colors of the Arika Camo-Tek fly rug reflect sunlight without trapping heat. 

Maximum Freedom of Movement with LeMieux's Patented Hem Design

The LeMieux Arika Camo-Tek fly rug loosely drapes around the horse's body and is generally cut longer in height. This is due to LeMieux's patented two-part rug hem design. Extensive research led to the development of this two-part hem. It reduces material tension in the chest area and allows the pony or horse to move naturally and with full stride while wearing the Arika Camo-Tek fly rug. Fluttering shoulder gussets, which horses can get caught on, are eliminated by this patented design, which allows for plenty of freedom of movement without disturbing or restricting.

The Advantage of a Belly Flap with Three Surcingles

The extended material at the belly, known as the belly flap, maximizes coverage over the sensitive belly seam of horses. Three flexible, adjustable surcingles keep the belly flap in position. The middle surcingle is detachable.

Innovative Chest Fastening and Horse-Friendly Details

The innovative chest fastening of the Arika Camo-Tek fly rug, featuring a T-bar buckle, is angled at 45° to prevent unnecessary rubbing and to evenly distribute pressure forces on the chest and shoulders. This ensures maximum freedom of movement and the greatest possible horse-friendly comfort. An antibacterial, anti-static lining ensures a great rug fit and prevents rubbing and hair breakage.

An extra-long tail flap covers the horse's tail root and provides an optimal barrier against insects. The tail cord is PVC-coated for easy cleaning.

Flexible Rug Management Thanks to Detachable Neck Cover

The detachable neck cover allows for optimal rug management and horse-friendly flexibility depending on the situation. The neck cover is easy to attach and detach and features a thoughtfully designed mane insert that protects the mane crest. Three strong hook-and-loop fasteners ensure a robust closure. Nevertheless, the neck cover loosely drapes around the horse's neck.
