Tea tree oil is known for its beneficial properties. It nourishes and regenerates the horn, and has antibacterial properties. The balsam turpentine oil in the Spray Serum is obtained by distillation from turpentine (balsam), primarily from pine and larch trees. It has a drying and hardening effect. The pinewood extract contains many valuable essential oils, vitamins, and trace elements. It deeply cleanses and conditions, thus supporting the maintenance of hoof health.

Dr. Ulf Jacoby founded the horse care product company leovet in 1982. This was preceded by a license to practice pharmacy in 1966, a doctorate in 1969, and a leading role in research for the pharmaceutical industry.
