It replaces the classic bit hook, which faces the horse, with a more elegant and horse-friendly, easily sliding metal cover, the slider. This movable slider covers an open pin. If you want to change the bit, you slide the slider upwards and open the cheek piece. After changing the bit, the cheek piece is placed back on the pin, and the slider is pulled downwards over the pin. The pin secures the position, and the movable slider ensures that the leather cannot come loose from the pin. Due to the external position of the Slide&Lock System, handling is much easier than with the classic bit hook, which is oriented towards the horse.
