Dr. Ulf Jacoby founded the horse care product company leovet in 1982. This was preceded by a license to practice pharmacy in 1966, a doctorate in 1969, and a leading role in research for the pharmaceutical industry. When he took over his parents' pharmacy in Lahnau and simultaneously began his own horse breeding and competition riding business, his own interest in horse care products grew, as did that of his customers. His specialization in horse care products was based on the principle: "More health for the horse - less work for the rider." Development and production still take place at the Lahnau site today. The care range currently includes 60 products that are popular and well-known throughout Europe. Apothekers Original Horse Ointment Gold has also been sold in German pharmacies since 2004.
