The Winderen Gel Bits System
The bits of the Winderen Gel Bits System are made of durable synthetic gel, which is very comfortable for the horse and therefore readily accepted. Another advantage is that it is very resistant to possible destruction by the horse's teeth.
The Winderen Gel Bits System is an innovative approach for riders who use more than one bit in daily training. Each of our gel mouthpieces can be combined with different types of cheekpieces to create the right bit for you. The procedure for changing the cheekpieces is very simple and takes only a few moments.

Horse-friendly Bits
Winderen has developed a gel that was readily accepted by test horses and is extremely resistant to destruction by horse teeth. Many of the test riders noted that the horses chewed more readily during work and released more quickly without evading the bit. The horses could quickly be brought to the hand and worked with good, stable contact, making training sessions more effective and relaxed.
The synthetic gel used in Winderen bits is fully tested and has been found to be completely horse-safe.
It has FDA certification, which is internationally recognized as proof of high standards, quality, and safety. This means that your horse can chew on the Winderen bit safely and without side effects.
FEI Conformity
Winderen's top priority when developing the Gel Bits System was to ensure that the bits comply with FEI regulations. Therefore, Winderen was able to develop bits that meet the guidelines of the show jumping, dressage, and eventing rules:
- A smooth bit surface
- Made from durable, synthetic material
- The hardness of all mouthpieces is permissible according to regulations
- Tongue relief with an acceptable height
- 18 mm thickness, suitable for horses and ponies
- Cheekpieces approved for dressage (loose ring, eggbutt, D-ring, and Baucher)
- The shape of the curb chain and all lengths of the cheekpieces are compliant with the rules
- White and orange bit colors are not prohibited in all disciplines
The Winderen Gel Bits System complies with the 25th edition of the FEI Dressage Rules, the 26th edition of the FEI Show Jumping Rules, and the 25th edition of the FEI Eventing Rules.
